Daily Dish: Gourmet Singles Out Rosario’s

Daily Dish: Gourmet Singles Out Rosario’s

In the October issue of Gourmet magazine, Rosario’s at 910 S. Alamo St. has been included on a list of the best restaurants in the U.S. for the money.

As the article says, “With the gaudy room, general revelry, and managers in headsets rushing about, you may wonder if the food suffers. Never. Each taco could have been made by somebody’s abuela (insiders request the grilled shrimp tacos with lime-doused cabbage slaw and chipotle mayo). ”

Also worth noting is Rather Sweet Bakery & Cafe, 249 E. Main St., Fredericksburg: “Kolaches in the morning; chicken potpies for lunch; and dive-right-in desserts – mini Key lime tarts, Mexican chocolate cake – anytime at all.”

It was a good year for Texas restaurants on the Southwest list. Other “Restaurants Worth the Money” in the Southwest include A Duni in Highland Park, City Market in Luling and Da Marco in Houston.
