Two of the hottest weekends in August will be especially hot at Central Market, 4821 Broadway. Pick up your roasted or raw Hatch chiles, plus roam the market for demos, specials and tastes during the Hatch Chile Festival. The festival is on two weekends, Aug. 21-23 and Aug. 28-30.

Cooks might also want to enter Hatch Chile Recipe Contest. Entries and/or photos must be entered online no later than 12 p.m. Aug. 20. Finalists will be contacted by telephone and compete in a taste-off for judges at Central Market. Each winner takes home a $100 Central Market gift card and a year’s supply of Hatch chiles.
